Flash flood warning issued for Boulder County

Jul. 24—The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for parts of Boulder County.

The alert is in place until 11 p.m. Saturday for north central Boulder County.

According to the National Weather Service, "radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the Calwood burn area. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly."

The warning indicated "heavy rainfall will cause flash flooding of creeks, streams and ditches in the Calwood burn area. Rock slides or debris flows can also be expected. The main areas of concern are Heil Valley Ranch and Lefthand Creek just above U.S. 36."
