The Flash won't be missing its gadget king any time soon.

Carlos Valdes has been a mainstay on the Arrowverse show from the beginning, first building Barry Allen's tech and then getting in on the heroics himself as Vibe when his meta-human powers manifested.

There were reports earlier this week that he was planning on quitting The Flash during the sixth season, but he set the record straight during the show's Comic-Con International appearance on Saturday (July 20).

"I know [about the rumours]," he told Digital Spy and other media. "Here's the thing – this should be a cautionary tale. When 'publication x' says, 'sources tell us... bla-di-bla-di-bla', they have no sources!

"The telltale signs are there, the red flags are there, but people buy that shit anyway. They'll buy that shit till the cows come home!"

Valdes went on: "I can't tell you how many people have come up to me, have written to me, have yelled at me, have cried at me, about me leaving the show. I'm like, 'I'm learning shit about myself that I didn't know – this is crazy!'

"So, for me, it's a cautionary tale: don't believe the rumours. I'm here. Season six, I'm here."

Cisco sticking around STAR Labs is definitely a good thing for the Arrowverse, following a few high-profile cast departures recently. Last season, Emily Bett Rickards bowed out of her long-running role as Felicity ahead of Arrow's final season.

Then earlier this week, original Supergirl cast member Mehcad Brooks announced that he'd be leaving the CW series during its upcoming fifth season as well.

The Flash will return on October 8 on The CW in the US, and Sky One and NOW TV in the UK.
