The Flash star Rick Cosnett has found a new project.

As reported by Variety, Cosnett has landed a leading role in The Holiday Exchange, an upcoming LGBTQ+ holiday romance also starring It Chapter Two's Taylor Frey.

The film follows successful businessman Wilde (played by Frey), a single gay man who's facing Christmas time alone after selling his company. In a twist reminiscent of The Holiday, Wilde and a man named Oliver (played by Cosnett) end up swapping houses on an LGBTQ+ app.

Once at their respective abodes, the duo will meet local men who bring a little warmth and romance to their lives. Taking yet more cues from The Holiday, the film will be set in both sunny LA and the snowy town of Brilfax.

Frey also wrote the movie, while A Christmas to Treasure helmer Jake Helgren will direct.

Cosnett is best known for playing CCPD detective Eddie Thawne in The Flash from 2014 to 2017 and then again from 2022 to 2023. Thawne died in the first season's finale but returned in seasons 2, 3 and 8.

Cosnett will return as the classic character for the final season of the show, which is currently airing. The finale is set to premiere on April 26 — and the show's boss, Eric Wallace, has warned fans there will be "lots of tears" in the finale.

"It's the last season premiere. We all know Stephen Amell is coming back to the show, and it's the last time we get to work with Stephen as the Arrow," Wallace said.

"It's the last season finale — there's all these lasts happening and that's really bled into the season themes, which is how finding closure allows you to achieve a new beginning."

The Flash airs on The CW in the US. Sky Showcase and NOW air the show in the UK.
