Flea Style Brings In 150 Home Decor Vendors
Flea Style, previously known as Dallas Flea, will have its annual spring show at the Dallas Market Hall on April 26 and 27. Attendees will be able to shop among 150 vendors’ booths selling handmade and vintage home goods. For a $5 fee, designers can find one-of-a-kind art, home decor, textiles, and furnishings. The site will also have food, bars, music, and children’s activities.
Sandra Clements’s Lifetime Collection Goes Up for Auction
From April 27 to 29, J. Garrett Auctioneers in Dallas will be auctioning off the antiques collection of Sandra Clements, considered one of the South’s first and most respected female antiques auctioneers. The auctions will begin at noon and allow for online bidding the first two days. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on such items like a French boulle, a 1900 French gilt-bronze console table with a malachite top, pair of 1880 Russian malachite urns, Baccarat chandeliers, unique lighting fixtures, and several large-format paintings.
Access Design Comes to Houston
The Houston Chronicle and Houston Design Center are bringing new ideas about home and interiors to Access Design, a two-day, free event on May 2 and 3. In addition to a party called Design Happy Hour, Access Design will feature talks about color and patterns in the home with interior designers Jennifer Barron and Hallie Henley Sims. Sophia Vassiliou will give a speech on feng shui, while Rainey Richardson will share insights at her talk “Space Planning: Maximizing Your Space to Reflect Your Unique Lifestyle.”
Larry Good of GFF Wins Dallas Business Journal Lifetime Achievement Award
Larry Good may have retired from the Dallas-based architecture and interior design firm that he founded, GFF, but earlier this month his achievements were recognized by the Dallas Business Journal when he was awarded the NTCAR’s Michael McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award. Good was recognized at a ceremony for the Best Real Estate Deals of 2018 at the Ritz Carlton on April 9. Good’s 36-year influence on the Dallas design scene, which included major projects like Klyde Warren Park, the Trinity River, and Bishop Arts District, garnered him the honor.
Dolly on Bishop to Bring Antique Wares to Bishop Arts
Dolly Python Vintage, the beloved Dallas vintage shop, will soon be opening a second store dubbed Dolly on Bishop in Bishop Arts. The shop is set to open in early summer at 313 North Bishop Avenue, and will be stocked with vintage and antique objects, records, and more. The current location is a treasure trove for designers, stocked with furniture, lamps, paintings, memorabilia, housewares, collectibles, pottery, frames, and even taxidermy.
