Flint GM plant delays start of Sunday shift for Lions’ game

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Flint Assembly truck plant will delay the start of its Sunday shift to allow workers to watch the end of the Lions’ game.

The schedule shift, reported by the Detroit News, will begin at 10:45 p.m. rather than 9:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The move is to allow workers to watch the Lions battle the San Francisco 49ers for the NFC Championship. The team that prevails Sunday moves on to Super Bowl LVIII and will face AFC Champion team Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions have not played in an NFC Championship game since 1992.

The Flint plant is the only GM operation in the state with a Sunday night shift, the Detroit News reports.
