Sep. 14—Senior punter Bailey Flint and junior linebacker Dyontae Johnson were both honored by the Mid-American Conference Monday for their performances in Toledo's 32-29 loss at Notre Dame.
Flint was named MAC West special teams player of the week after averaging 45.4 yards per punt against the Irish. He pinned Notre Dame inside the 10-yard line twice and inside the 20 four times. Flint had punts of 68 and 57 yards.
Johnson, who had a team-high 10 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, was named the MAC West defensive player of the week. His 10 tackles tied a career high.
TIME SET: Toledo's showdown at Ball State on Sept. 25 will kick off at 2 p.m. and will be shown on ESPN+.
Ball State is the defending MAC champion and the preseason favorite, according to the league's head coaches and media. The Cardinals lost at Penn State last week, 44-13.
