Flood Warnings Persist in West Virginia

Heavy rain in West Virginia made roads “impassable” in several locations on Friday, April 12, the National Weather Service (NWS) warned.

According to the NWS, as much as 3.5 inches of rain fell across the West Virginia lowlands on Thursday. Flash flood warnings remained in effect into Friday morning.

Footage taken by Kim Hoffman shows flooded roads in the community of Alum Creek on Friday.

“Guess I’m not going to work today,” she said, posting a photo of water covering Little Coal River Road.
