Flood watch extended in Bucks County. What to know about this week's weather

The week is getting off to a wet, cold and altogether dreary start in Bucks County, with the National Weather Service in Mount Holly extending its flood watch designation until 4 p.m.

The alert from the weather service notes that flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains a possibility throughout Bucks County and the Delaware Valley.

"Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas," read a portion of the flood watch alert. "Widespread 1.5 to 3 inches of rain has fallen across the watch area.

"While rain is diminishing across the area, small streams and creeks may continue to rise into today."

Here's everything else to know about forecast, including when the rain will move out and what to expect heading into the weekend.

Flood watch through Tuesday, no rain in forecast this week

National Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Brudy said the rain will soon move out of Bucks County, which will be followed by some hours of windy conditions.

"The back end of the precipitation is just about to clear out of Lower Bucks County, and that will be largely it for the day," Brudy said. "Overall, the rest of the week will be right around normal, with temperatures maybe dipping below normal on Thursday.

"But it will be dry for the rest of the week and weekend," Brudy added. "There is no precipitation in the forecast until very late Sunday."
