Floodwaters Seep Through Doors of Dog Daycare in DC

Water was seen rising and seeping through the doors of a dog daycare facility in Washington, DC, on August 10, amid a National Weather Service (NWS) warning of a flash flood for the area.

Video recorded by Tim McGuire, the general manager of District Dogs, shows the extreme weather conditions, as the rainwater begins rising on the street and eventually washes over to the storefront, seeping inside.

“The dogs were moved to higher ground and were not trapped in the flooding,” McGuire told Storyful. “This is the third time that we have experienced severe flooding at this location this year.”

McGuire also recorded several clips inside the daycare, which shows water entering through various seams and covering the facility’s floors, as dogs bark in the background. “This is not safe,” a person can be heard saying. Credit: Tim McGuire via Storyful
