'Floribama Shore's' Newest Cast Member Mattie Has Had Some Trouble With The Law

If you’ve been watching MTV’s Floribama Shore, you know it’s basically a southern version of Jersey Shore—a.k.a. it’s amazing.

Well, there’s a new cast member joining season three of MTV's hit reality TV show, and she appears (briefly) in a teaser trailer for the upcoming season. Her name is Mattie Lynn Breaux, and people naturally have some questions about the new girl on the block, er, beach. Here’s what you need to know about Floribama Shore’s latest star:

Floribama Shore isn't Mattie’s first reality TV rodeo.

In fact, she’s kind of a reality TV veteran. Mattie was on CMT’s Party Down South (which followed eight people partying in the small seaside town of Murrells Inlet, S.C.—basically the same thing as Floribama Shore), and she competed on MTV’s The Challenge: War of the Worlds, where she came in seventh place.

She’s run into some trouble with the law.

Earlier this year, Mattie was arrested for a DUI in Nashville after she crashed the car she was driving and landed it in the center concrete median, according to Scoop Nashville. Police say she admitted to drinking "two beers" and taking hydrocodone (an opioid) that was "given to her by a friend" before she got behind the wheel. She told officers at the time that she had two previous DUI arrests in Louisiana.

Mattie's got a good sense of humor.

She’s struggled with anxiety in the past.

Mattie opened up in an October Instagram post about her past struggles with mental health. "I myself have suffered from insecurities and anxiety. It’s okay to not be okay sometimes... but it’s NOT okay to stay there!" she wrote. "Being in the public eye sharing my story with you all hasn’t been the easiest thing! I sometimes feel like I need to look a certain way, act a certain way, and have certain material things to win your love and or support! That is lies! What matters is being myself...loving myself.. accepting those flaws and allowing them to fuel me for the better!"

Mattie has a thing for taking pics in wet clothes.
