Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and took Tracey Scarborough into custody on an arrest warrant for interference of child custody. Leon was not harmed and was placed into the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

“We are very relieved the child was safely located and there was a peaceful resolution to this incident. I want to express my gratitude to members of our communities for helping us bring this situation to a close. I also want to thank the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and our state and federal partners who assisted with this case,” St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said in a Facebook post.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement originally issued the AMBER Alert for Leon on Friday morning.
