“I support trans, so I would not boycott Budweiser over that,” James Garner said.

“I mean right after the slaughter of Christian children by a trans shooter, it seems really insensitive,” Alex Distler said.

A man who didn’t want to share his name said, “I think people that are opposed to the idea are welcome to do it. I really don’t have an opinion one way or the other.”

Bud Light chose trans activist Dylan Mulvaney to be a brand spokesperson for a March Madness video campaign.

This sparked major backlash on social media. You can see videos of people destroying Bud Light cans, pouring their Bud Light out, and showing their overall distaste for the beer. Musician Kid Rock even posted a video showing him shooting at Bud Light cans.

Millions of people were clicking on this hashtag on TikTok, and thousands were using it on Twitter. According to cookoutnews.com, Florida was among the top three states trending with the “Boycott Bud Light” hashtag.

We asked if Garner would drink Bud Light beer or not, and responded saying, “Yes, I would. I buy their 55-calorie beer.”

“I don’t drink. Back when I did, I didn’t like Bud Light, but I don’t think anyone should,” Distler said.

When I asked the anonymous man how he felt, he said he was indifferent. He added, “I think people have the right to consume or not consume whatever they choose and to believe or support or not support particular causes or what have you. That’s up to the individual.”

Bud Light has been known to support the LGBTQIA+ community in the past. Last year, it brought back its rainbow aluminum bottles during Pride month.
