FAU is the Cinderella of the Final Four having come through the East Region as a No. 9 seed. San Diego State, the Owls' opponent in Saturday's first semifinal game, is a No. 5 seed. As is Miami, which faces UConn, a No. 4 seed and the favorite to win the national championship.

The Owls are most popular in much of the Midwest and virtually the entire South — including Florida — except the only three states rooting for the Hurricanes … Louisiana, Georgia and South Carolina.

FAU even breaks into the Mountain West with Montana on its side.

San Diego State's entire fan base is the West. Connecticut owns the Northeast except Pennsylvania (FAU) along with Virginia, North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.
