Florida attorney general demands end to public transportation mask mandates

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and at least 20 other states have filed a complaint against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, demanding an end to public transportation mask mandates.

The complaint, filed in a United States District Court, argues that the CDC’s mask mandate exceeds the agency’s authority.
In a statement announcing the filing of the complaint, Moody said that with states around the country beginning to lift indoor mask requirements, the CDC’s rule doesn’t make sense.

“It’s long past time to alleviate some of the pressure on travelers and those working in the travel industry by immediately ending Biden’s unlawful public transportation mandates”, Moody said.

Florida, which has imposed laws banning forced masking, “seeks the eradication of the unlawful mask mandate and a permanent injunction against enforcement.”
