Which Florida colleges and universities have the highest SAT scores?
The SAT is falling out of favor at some colleges as a gateway for admissions. But it’s still used by most Florida schools, including the ones generally considered the most academically prestigious.
Having a high score on the SAT is never the sole factor in whether someone gets into a college, but having one that’s too low can be disqualifying.
For an idea of how selective each school is, here are the Florida colleges and universities whose students had the highest average SAT scores in fall 2021, the most recent year for which federal data is available.
Of course, you don’t necessarily need a score as high as these to get into these schools. Admissions officers weigh many factors in reviewing applicants.

In fact, some schools are relying less on the SAT, saying it and other standardized tests unfairly disadvantage students from less privileged families.
Others, meanwhile, defend the SAT as being less biased than other admissions factors like high school grades or student activities.
