Florida DCF to expand Hope Florida program into juvenile justice system

The Florida Department of Children and Families will be expanding its Hope Florida program into the juvenile justice system.

First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the expansion Wednesday.

She said the program’s guidance counselors will work with families of at-risk children and find a meaningful outlet for them.

“How can we put these kids on a pathway to potential? Because it’s there for all of these kids. All we have to do is unearth what is ultimately there,” DeSantis said.

Hope Florida’s counselors will be able to connect at-risk kids with religious or business mentors in their community.
