Florida Disaster Fund awards $100,000 to Osceola REDI for hurricane recovery

To assist with Hurricane Ian recovery efforts, Osceola REDI has been awarded $100,000 from the Florida Disaster Fund.
Florida’s First Lady Casey DeSantis made the announcement last week.

The Florida Disaster Fund is Florida’s official private fund created to assist communities as they recover from emergencies or disasters.
“This really builds on our efforts to harness private-sector philanthropy and generosity to recovery efforts after the impact of Hurricane Ian,” said Osceola County Emergency Management Director Bill Litton. “It will further the mission of Osceola REDI (Recovery from Emergency Disaster Initiative) to assist local disaster victims through pooling of community resources and assistance.”

Osceola REDI is a coalition of governmental agencies, faith-based and non-profit organizations, businesses, and individuals.

The non-profit provides comprehensive and integrated emergency management assistance to help Osceola County prepare, respond and recover from disasters.
