Florida Divers Find Tire, Car Keys During Gulf Cleanup

Divers in the Florida Panhandle carried out an underwater cleanup around the Okaloosa Island Pier in Fort Walton Beach, finding car keys and a tire among the detritus on the seabed, footage posted on September 27 shows.

This video, posted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, shows the divers picking up debris on the seabed. The sheriff’s office commented on the post, “A Clean Gulf is a Happy Gulf!”

In an earlier post, the sheriff’s office said their dive team went to work that weekend alongside other local scuba divers as part of a cleanup effort targeting debris underneath the Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier. The office said the first round of the cleanup took place in August and brought in nearly 400 pounds of junk.
