Florida gas prices see 4-week high, but Pensacola gas prices remain lowest in state

Florida gas prices rose an average of 20 cents per gallon over the past week — the highest gas has been in four weeks.

The increase broke a 22-day streak of declines when gas on Sunday was about $3.46 on average in Florida, according to a release from AAA.

Gas prices on July 4 averaged $3.26 per gallon, which was $1.28 per gallon less than last year’s average yet still managing to be the second-most expensive July 4 at the pump in a decade, according to AAA.

Sunday’s state average remained below this year’s high of $3.72 per gallon. Since Labor Day, Florida gas prices have averaged $3.38 per gallon.
