Florida Gators QB Jalen Kitna, son of ex-NFL QB Jon Kitna, arrested for child porn

A son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna was arrested Wednesday on five child pornography charges.

Jalen Kitna, 19, was the backup quarterback for the University of Florida Gators during the 2022 season.

The teenager shared two child porn images in a Discord chat and had three more images on his phone, the Gainesville Police Department said in a Facebook post.

Police said they got a tip about child porn in a Discord chat and traced the images back to Kitna’s account.

Investigators questioned Kitna at his Gainesville apartment on Wednesday and said he admitted sharing the pictures.

“Kitna advised that he realized he should not have shared those two images, based on the reaction from the other Discord user,” Gainesville police wrote.

Discord deactivated Kitna’s account before the cops got involved.

After officers questioned Kitna, they went through his phone and found three more child porn images, Gainesville police said. He was arrested on two counts of distributing child pornography and three counts of possessing child pornography.

“We are shocked and saddened to hear of the news involving Jalen Kitna,” Florida’s athletic department said in a statement. “Jalen has been suspended indefinitely from the football program.”

Kitna completed 10 of 14 passes for one touchdown while backing up Anthony Richardson for the Gators during the 2022 season.
