Multi-platinum country duo Florida Georgia Line will headline the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on Aug. 31.
Tickets are priced from $106 to $75 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday. The State Fairgrounds ticket office will not be open for in-person sales, but seats can be purchased via etix.com or by phone at 800-514-3849. Newcomer Bailey Zimmerman (“Fall in Love,” “Rock and a Hard Place”) will open.
Florida Georgia Line vocalists Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard met in 2008 when they were studying at Belmont University in Nashville and began performing together after they graduated. Nickelback producer Joey Moi discovered the pair playing a county fair and helped them record their debut EP, which led to a major-label deal and the smash success of “Cruise.”
Nearly every one of Florida Georgia Line’s subsequent singles has gone platinum or better, including “Round Here,” “Stay,” “This Is How We Roll,” “H.O.L.Y.,” “Simple” and “Talk You Out of It.”
The pair have also toured heavily and opened for Luke Bryan when he headlined TCF Bank Stadium in June 2015. Two years later, Florida Georgia Line drew more than 37,000 fans to Target Field for a show with Backstreet Boys and Nelly.
The Grandstand lineup is now complete. Other Grandstand shows already on sale include: Alice in Chains and Breaking Benjamin with Bush (Aug. 25); Counting Crows with the Wallflowers (Aug. 26); Portugal the Man and Manchester Orchestra with Bad Bad Hats (Aug. 27); Pitbull with Iggy Azalea (Aug. 28); the Beach Boys and the Temptations with Tower of Power (Aug. 29); Jim Gaffigan (Aug. 30); REO Speedwagon and Styx with Levon (Sept. 1); Zac Brown Band with Robert Randolph Band (Sept. 2); Diana Ross with Naturally 7 (Sept. 3); the Minnesota State Fair amateur talent contest finals (Sept. 4); and Disney Princess – The Concert (Sept. 5).
