Florida high school football: South Florida schools unanimously sweep No. 1 spots in Metro

A quartet of South Florida juggernauts unanimously swept the No. 1 spots in the four Metro classifications.

Columbus, St. Thomas Aquinas, Miami Central and Chaminade-Madonna each received all 10 first-place votes in the USA TODAY Florida Network poll. Columbus snatched the top spot two weeks ago from Seminole and strengthened its case with a 21-6 victory Friday over Homestead.

Pine Forest is the only team from the suburban classifications unanimously voted No. 1, but Lakeland, Florida High and First Baptist all remained top of their class.
