Florida Highway Patrol investigating after multi-vehicle crash sends 4 to hospital: Midway Fire Department

GULF BREEZE, Fla. (WKRG) — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday night that resulted in multiple drivers being taken to the hospital.

According to a Facebook post, Midway Fire District responded to Gulf Breeze Parkway near the entrance to Pensacola State College after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Santa Rosa County Communications also received “numerous 911 calls reporting a multi-vehicle crash,” according to the post.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that three vehicles had been involved in the crash. Engine 37 arrived on the scene and used extraction tools to free the driver of a yellow Ford Mustang. The other two drivers were able to free themselves, according to the post.

Two of the drivers were trauma alerted and one was flown by Air-care 3 to a local trauma center. According to the post, the second trauma alert, along with a third patient was taken by Lifeguard E.M.S. by ground.

The post states that two other vehicles received damage as a result of the crash.
