Florida Highway Patrol looks for new troopers at hiring event, simplifies application process

If you’re looking for a job, the Florida Highway Patrol will be hiring.

The agency announced that in a couple of months, there would be an event to help speed up the process and cut costs for applicants.

The process includes background checks, a medical exam, a polygraph and a physical agility test.

FHP said the event would cover 75% of the application process and decrease the application process time by about two to three months.

The hiring event looks for certified Florida law enforcement officers with two or more years of active patrol experience.

FHP will hold the event at the new station on International Drive in Orlando from May 15 through May 19.

Applications are online, and starting pay is $50,000.
