Florida man arrested in Daphne for Atmore vehicle thefts, police say

ATMORE, Ala. (WKRG) — A man allegedly involved in two vehicle thefts and leading police on a high-speed chase in Atmore has been identified and arrested in Daphne, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Justin Daniel Ward, 26, of Panama City, was arrested on Monday just before 10 p.m. when a Daphne Police officer conducted a traffic stop.

According to a news release from the Atmore Police Department, two vehicle thefts happened on Feb. 17.

Ward allegedly led officers on high-speed pursuits on Highway 31. He fled from the second vehicle after crashing it, according to the release, and then allegedly ran into a heavily wooded area.

Ward has active warrants in Panama City Beach for fraud, dealing in stolen property and theft of property. He has an active warrant for felony attempting to elude in Baldwin County. In Bay Minette, Ward has active warrants for failure to appear in reference to third-degree domestic violence and driving with a suspended license.

The Atmore Police Department will be “submitting multiple arrest warrants” for theft of property, felony attempting to elude, leaving the scene of an accident, and various traffic violations.
