Florida man arrested in slaying of ex-Muncie resident

MUNCIE, Ind. — A man accused of killing a former Muncie resident has been captured in Hillsborough County, Florida.

Paul Wayne Williams II, 37, of Tampa, is charged with first-degree murder while engaging in a carjacking, armed carjacking, attempted robbery, aggravated battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He was apprehended by sheriff's deputies on Sunday.

Williams is accused of fatally shooting ex-Muncie resident David Keeley on the evening of Feb. 4 during a carjacking outside a Tampa convenience store along Interstate 4.

Williams allegedly pulled a handgun after being given a ride by Keeley and his husband, Michael Fordyce.

The Tampa man is accused of striking Fordyce with the firearm and then shooting Keeley in the chest. He allegedly fled from the scene in the victims' car.

Keeley was a nurse in the Muncie area for 44 years before retiring and moving to Florida.
