Florida man caught on video stealing local sushi restaurant's Buddha statue

A man was caught on surveillance camera stealing a Buddha statue from a sushi restaurant in Florida.

The unidentified man can be seen placing an order at the Sushi Sake restaurant in Cutler Bay. When the server walks away, the customer is seen grabbing the Buddha statue on the counter and walking outside to place it in his car before returning inside the restaurant.

Owners of the restaurant took to Instagram to warn followers of the incident. They included surveillance footage of the man and released his name in a post.

“Buddha thief on the loose!” the caption reads. “Hi my name is Ron Marlon McKenzie and I’m a Buddha thief. I like ordering chicken fried rice, no veggies with a lemonade.”

The post continues to include the customer’s phone number before saying, “If you would like anything stolen, please call me. I am a terrible person who doesn’t care about small business owners at all.”

The restaurant owner said they do not want or need the statue back; however, they wish to inform their followers of the thief.
