Florida man found guilty of aggravated battery after attack on prison counselor: Report

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A man was found guilty by a Santa Rosa County jury of aggravated battery on a victim 65 years of age or older with great bodily harm.

Terry Terrance Rawls, of Lee County, Florida, attacked a prison counselor, choked her and caused her to break her left leg. At the time, Rawls was serving a prison sentence for a burglary and sexual battery he committed in Hardee County.

Rawls was sentenced to the Prison Releasee Reoffender guidelines. He was sentenced to 30 years in the Department of Corrections. He will serve his time consecutively to the sentence he was already serving.
