Florida man wanted for allegedly stealing more than $1,700 worth of gas: police

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Police are searching for a man who they believe stole more than $1,700 of fuel from a 7-Eleven gas station last week.

On the morning of Feb. 6, officials said the man was seen getting out of a green minivan that may have been involved in siphoning diesel gasoline at the 7-Eleven located at 11501 State Road 82 in Fort Myers.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, the minivan was parked over an underground tank for roughly 23 minutes before fleeing to an unknown location.

The gas station lost 446 gallons of diesel fuel, worth approximately $1,733.60, the police department said.

The unknown man is described as having light-dark skin, possibly Hispanic, and wearing a gray hat, blue jacket, black undershirt, dark gray pants, and sandals. The vehicle is a green minivan, likely an old model Chrysler with a spare tire on the roof, gray tape on the rear passenger window with stickers on the back windshield.
