TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — An “armed and dangerous” Florida man who is wanted in connection with his wife’s murder could be in the Tampa Bay area, officials said on Wednesday.
The U.S. Marshals are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of 46-year-old Fidel Fletcher. Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is also offering a $3,000 reward.
Fletcher has been wanted out of Charlotte County since Dec. 27, according to the U.S. Marshals. He’s 6’1″ and 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Fletcher may be riding a black BMX-style bike, officials said. He may be wearing blue jeans and a green Army-style jacket.
Fletcher allegedly stabbed his wife 16 times in front of her 5- and 6-year-old children on Dec. 26 in Charlotte County, according to WBBH. She reportedly moved from Ohio to Port Charlotte last year, where the two met and got married a month later.
Family members told WBBH that Fletcher acted violently toward his wife. The family member had Fletcher arrested previously for domestic violence and filed for a restraining order, according to the station.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the U.S. Marshals at 1-877-WANTED2.
