Is minimum wage the same for most states? Actually, no.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the range varies from $2 to just under $18 an hour.

Florida’s minimum wage increased from $11 an hour to $12 an hour on Sept. 30, 2023. In November 2020, Floridians had voted to raise the state’s minimum wage $1 dollar every September until it hits the $15-per-hour cap or until September 2026.

The minimum wage for tipped employees jumped to $8.97 an hour on Sept. 30, 2023, up from $7.98. To compare, the federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.
