Florida Mother Wins $2M Lottery After Taking Out Life Savings To Take Care Of Daughter Who Had Cancer

A Florida mother has been blessed with a pair of miracles in the same week. Geraldine Gimblet is still in shock after learning that she won a $2 million lottery, only a day after her daughter finished her last treatment for breast cancer.

Gimblet won the lottery after buying her ticket at a gas station in Poly County, Florida, WESH reported.

“At first, the gas station clerk thought there were no tickets left, but I asked him to double check because I like the crossword games the best,” Gimblet told WESH. “He found the last one!”

A day earlier, there was more good news for Gimblet.

“The day before my mom bought this ticket, I rang the bell and walked out of the hospital after completing my last treatment for breast cancer,” Gimblet’s daughter told WESH.

The Florida mother played a $10 crossword game which features eight top prizes of $2 million and 20 second-tier prizes of $100,000.

“My mom had taken out her life savings to take care of me when I was sick,” her daughter said according to CBS News. “I’m just so happy for her!”
