Florida nearing top 10 in team rankings following latest commitment

The Gators added another blue-chip recruit to the class of 2023 on Wednesday, and Florida has moved up to No. 12 in the latest team recruiting rankings update from On3.

Linebacker Jaden Robinson became the 15th four-star recruit to commit to UF and the 17th overall to join the class. The On3 consensus ranked him No. 379 overall in the class of 2023 and No. 36 among linebackers. Adding Robinson was enough to push Florida ahead of Tennessee to No. 12 on the overall rankings, and UF also took sole position of the No. 4 spot among SEC programs.

This will be Billy Napier’s first true recruiting class as the head coach of the Gators. He assembled a transition class for 2022 in a two-month scramble that finished 20th in the nation, but this will be the first group he gets to spend an entire year recruiting.

The hope is for a top-10 class, and that’s nearing reality. Only USC and Penn State stand between Florida and the promised land. That said, Gator Nation may not be happy unless UF finishes ahead of Miami, which is No. 7 on the list with a pair of five-star recruits in tow.

If Florida lands Cormani McClain and a few more four-star recruits, passing Miami could become reality as well. Treyaun Webb, a class of 2023 running back commit, hinted at some possible recruiting news in the near future and he’s been right before. Perhaps Florida cracks the top 10 sooner than expected.
