Florida primary election 2022: See results from Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lee County voting
Florida voters head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in the 2022 primary and nonpartisan general elections.
In local races, four school board seats are up for grabs. Four District 1 candidates are looking to replace Mary Fischer, who is not running for reelection.
In District 4, incumbent Debbie Jordan faces three challengers, while District 5 incumbent Gwynetta Gittens has one and three candidates are running for the District 6 at-large seat.

Lee County voters will choose a Republican candidate in the District 5 commission contest. The winner will meet Democrat Matt Wood in the Nov. 8 general election. In District 4, commissioners Cecil Pendergrass and Brian Hamman face write-in candidates.
Fort Myers Ward 1 councilwoman Teresa Watkins Brown is being challenged by Bishop Verot High School teacher Martin Byrd Jr.
In Cape Coral's mayoral race, John Gunter and Thomas Shadrach are vying for the job, and city council seats for districts 1, 4 and 6 are on the ballot.

When do polls open and close on Election Day?
Polling locations in Florida are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters in line by 7 p.m. will be permitted to cast their ballot.
Can I register to vote on Election Day in Florida?
Florida does not allow same-day voter registration. The deadline to register to vote is 29 days prior to the election. For the Aug. 23 primary, the last day to register was July 25.

Do I need ID to vote?
To vote in Florida, you must present a valid photo ID with signature. Here's what's accepted:
Florida driver’s license
Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
United States passport
Debit or credit card
Military identification
Student identification
Retirement center identification
Neighborhood association identification
Public assistance identification
Veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs
License to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to s. 790.06
Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality
According to the Florida Division of Elections, you can still vote on a provisional ballot if you don't bring proper ID. As long as you are eligible and voted in the proper precinct, your provisional ballot will count, provided the signature on your provisional ballot matches the signature in your registration record.
