Florida Sheriff Locates Infant Snatched During Car Theft

Missing infant Tinnley West was found safe in her carseat inside her parents’ car, in Brandon, Florida, on Tuesday, February 16, several hours after the vehicle was stolen with the child inside, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said.

One-year-old Tinnley was found unharmed inside the vehicle, which was left in a church parking lot approximately three miles from the family’s residence, reports said.

HCSO said Tinnley was recovered by Master Corporal John Seale, who was later awarded the “Chief’s challenge coin” for his actions.

The sheriff indicated that his office believed that the perpetrator targeted the vehicle and did not intend to kidnap the child. HCSO had not yet detained any suspects at the time of writing. Credit: Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
