Florida State football: UTEP OL Jeremiah Byers announces transfer commitment to Seminoles

Florida State football continues to add talent through the transfer portal. This time, another offensive lineman announced his decision to join the Seminoles.

UTEP transfer OL Jeremiah Byers chose the Seminoles on Monday evening, announcing his decision on social media.

The 6-foot-4, 331-pound lineman earned All-Conference USA honors for UTEP in 2022 as a redshirt sophomore. He was the starting right tackle for the Miners in all their games this season, playing a total of 855 snaps.

In his four seasons with the Miners, Byers started 30 games and appeared in a total of 34. According to Pro Football Focus grades, he posted a 79.4 offensive grade (24th best). His pass blocking grade of 83.2 ranked 27th best, while his run block grade of pass block grade of 79.3 ranked 24th best.

Byers, who was highly sought after, choose FSU over Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon and other interested schools.

Colorado OL Casey Roddick announced his transfer commitment to the Seminoles on Sunday.

Along with Byers and Roddick FSU now has commitments from three other transfers: Defensive tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. (Miami), and tight ends Jaheim Bell (South Carolina) and Kyle Morlock (Shorter University).
