Florida State Parks partnership offers 10 children $1,000 scholarships, gift packs

A partnership between the Florida State Parks and the Florida Prepaid College Savings Program offers young adventurers opportunities for exploration and future education.

The “Exploring Education Scholarship” awards 10 Florida children a $1,000 Florida 529 Savings Plan scholarship, plus a Junior Ranger gift pack with a hammock and inflatable paddleboard.

The promotion runs through June 30 and can be entered by parents and guardians of children from newborns to eighth grade. Winners will be randomly selected and notified by July 20. The sweepstakes deadline coincides with the end of June, which is Great Outdoors Month.

Florida Prepaid will invest $50 toward each new Florida 529 Savings Plan account during the sweepstakes period.

Visitors to participating state parks can join the Junior Ranger Program, which helps children learn about Florida’s natural and cultural resources with six core activities. Completed passports can earn an official Junior Ranger pin. A virtual program is also available.
