Florida State Seminoles vs. Oklahoma Sooners: How to watch Cheez-It Bowl on TV, streaming
The Florida State football team is ready to wrap up its best season in years.
The No. 13 Seminoles face the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cheez-It Bowl with the future looking bright in Tallahassee. In his third season as head coach, Mike Norvell saw real progress on the field, leading FSU to its first bowl game since 2019 and eyeing its first 10-win season since 2016.
Aside from a three-game losing skid in October, it's been a resurgent year for FSU (9-3, 5-3 in ACC). The Seminoles boasted the No. 18 scoring offense in the FBS with 36.2 points per game, led by dual-threat quarterback Jordan Travis, who announced he's returning in 2023. Sophomore running back Trey Benson led a dynamic rushing attack with nearly 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns. They have a top-notch defense to match, allowing just 19.67 points per game thanks to pass rusher Jared Verse.
Oklahoma (6-6, 3-6 in Big 12) struggled after coach Lincoln Riley left Norman for Southern Cal. The Sooners still had a strong offense under Brent Venables, averaging 32.9 points per game behind quarterback Dillon Gabriel, a transfer from UCF. Senior running back Eric Gray paced the attack, rushing for 1,364 yards and 11 TDs, with junior receiver Marvin Mims Jr. adding 1,006 yards and six touchdowns receiving.
