Florida troopers looking for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash in Orange County

Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle that was involved in a crash on Chickasaw Trail Sunday morning.

Troopers said a Subaru Forester driven by a 71-year-old female from Haines City was exiting State Road 408 at Chickasaw Trail and attempted to make a left turn.

Witnesses told investigators the Subaru ran the red light when making the left turn from SR-408 to Chickasaw Trail and failed to negotiate the turn.

A second vehicle, witnesses say was a small white sedan, was traveling south on Chickasaw Trail when the front left of the car hit the back of the Subaru.

The collision caused the Subaru to lose control and go off the roadway, hitting the curb and ending up on the sidewalk coming to rest along the guardrail.

According to FHP, witnesses pulled the driver of the Subaru out of the car before the car was engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Subaru was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the second vehicle did not stay on the scene and witnesses were only able to give a vague description of the car.

Troopers ask the public to call FHP at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-tips if they have any additional details regarding this crash.
