Walt Disney World and other Orlando, Florida, theme parks have closed their water parks (and in Universal Orlando's case, one of its rides) on account of atypical cold temperatures in the state – and theme park guests and enthusiasts have been quick to point out the chills on social media.

"Wanted to take the kids to Disney world today, but it’s 30 degrees...." Twitter user @kil0 wrote early Wednesday. It was 39 degrees in Orlando as of 9:30 a.m. EST Wednesday, though with some cloud cover, it felt more like 30 degrees. The forecasted high is 61 degrees, according to AccuWeather.

Universal Orlando spokesperson Ali Beemer told USA TODAY that its Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was closed due to the weather. "The only ride closed in our parks due to weather is Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, but guests should continue to check the official Universal Orlando Resort app for updates," Beemer said.

Universal Orlando's Volcano Bay, which was closed Monday through the early part of the week is expected to reopen Thursday, according to the resort.

"Volcano Bay is expected to be open tomorrow (subject to change due to weather)," the resort wrote on Twitter in response to someone asking.

As for Disney World: Disney spokesperson Charles Stovall confirmed to USA TODAY that Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed through Wednesday on account of the cold forecasted temperatures.

"As a reminder, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is closed for its annual refurbishment at this time," Stovall added of Disney's other Orlando water park.

Twitter user @MJA773 was aiming to go to Disney World this week but pushed back plans and is happy about that: "I was so close to going this week and I'm glad I got it pushed back," they tweeted

"It's really, really cold at Walt Disney World today, but is it ever too cold for a round of golf at Disney?" trip planner Touring Plans pointed out on Twitter.

SeaWorld's Aquatica was already bracing for the cold on Tuesday, according to an Instagram post. "Covering up the plants and flowers already," Instagram user Nancy Worrell posted. Aquatica has been closed since Monday and will be closed through Wednesday.
