Florida woman drunkenly blows away parrot during domestic dispute: police
A Florida woman was arrested after fatally shooting an African gray parrot during a drunken domestic dispute with her husband.
Suzanne Mulalley was released on her own recognizance following the incident, according to Tampa area police. The intoxicated woman was arrested Monday when a dispute with her drunk husband led to the 61-year-old woman blasting her bird with a .380 caliber Glock, according to the Smoking Gun.
The shooting reportedly happened inside Mulalley’s Largo, Fla. home. A Pinellas County affidavit posted to the crime site says the suspect and her spouse are charged with domestic battery.
Cops said “both defendant and victim walked outside and pushed each other” before Mulalley sprayed her 66-year-old husband with a water bottle.
There are so far no charges related to animal cruelty, though a judge reportedly ordered Mulalley to have no contact with animals.”
Florida cops reportedly responded to a shot fired in Mulalley’s backyard in February, where they saw “numerous loaded firearms” inside the home. Cops booked her for resisting arrest, but prosecutors pressed no charges in that incident.
Pinellas County officials did not immediately return a request for comment.
