Ashley Moody thinks you're an idiot

Attorney General Ashley Moody has asked the Florida Supreme Court to reject a proposed constitutional amendment that seeks to ensure abortion rights. We’ve heard all the excuses from the GOP Legislature as to why that right should be denied or limited to six weeks into a pregnancy. But Moody has taken it a step further to imply that voters simply aren’t smart enough to understand the amendment, that we would be “hoodwinked” and "misled," that we don’t know how to interpret big words like “viability” “patient health” and “healthcare providers.” Try us, Ashley.

Floridians shouldn't pay Trump's legal fees

Our Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, in a speech, proposed legislation to pay the legal bills of candidates who are being prosecuted for "political purposes."  Clearly, he is talking about defrauding Florida taxpayers in order to pay Trump's legal bills. Just to clarify, despite all of Trump and his minions claiming his prosecution is "politically motivated," the reality is that he has possibly committed a number of crimes for which you or I, as ordinary citizens, would currently be occupying a jail cell while awaiting trial.

Sen. Tuberville, security threat and disgrace

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., continues to make a fool of himself, holding up promotions for more than 400 military personnel since February. He recently downplayed the stress General Eric Smith, commandant of the United States Marines, was under while putting in 18-hour work days, serving as both Commandant and Assistant Commandant. General Smith recently suffered a heart attack.

Responding to questions, Tuberville said that he too worked 18-hour days, albeit as a football coach. Therein lies his conceit. Coach Tuberville was likely up at the crack of dawn, "cup of joe" in hand, pacing while going over offensive and defensive schemes with his assistants. It's revolting that this senator is holding up these promotions, making the U.S. military grovel for their due. More repugnant is Tuberville's audacity equating the job of a football coach with the commandant of the United States Marines.

Funding Ukraine better than shedding blood

I've read that approximately 50% of the American people are ready to stop U.S. funding for Ukraine's effort to resist Russia and Vladimir Putin. Before you take that position consider the consequences of emboldening Putin. He is already celebrating our drop in resolve. We do not have to try too hard to imagine how Russia could pull us into actual ground fighting. We do not want the blood of our sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters offered when we have the opportunity to stop Putin with our funding.
