Heavy rain on top of saturated ground brings flooding risk

As the storms move through from the Gulf of Mexico, they bring not only the possibility of a couple of tornadoes, but also hail and strong wind gusts.

The National Weather Service warned hail up to quarter size are possible, along with isolated wind gusts up to 70 mph.

Heavy rain associated with the storms bring a potential for flooding since the ground is saturated.

A flood watch remains in effect until 6 p.m. today for Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties.
