Flower Day at Eastern Market in Detroit: 11 nearby restaurants

Flower Day at Eastern Market is this weekend. The annual event draws thousands of people to buy flowers and plants. It's one of the popular events that take place at the historic Detroit market.

Checking out the flowers and plants and walking around the annual sale can make you hungry. Amid the plethora of flowers, there will be plenty of food offerings around the market and at nearby restaurants.

Some restaurants, like Vivio's on Market Street and Zeff's Coney Island on Russell Street, are adjacent to Eastern Market sheds and are longtime staples.

Sadly, Supino Pizzeria will not be open. The popular spot suffered water damage from a fire in a residential loft atop the restaurant in late April. However, Supino's New Center restaurant is open.

In the Eastern Market area, Russell Street will be closed from the Interstate 75 Service Drive to Wilkins during the flower day sale. Food truck vendors will be parked in that area offering a variety of cuisines.
