Flower power: Garden Club of Palm Beach holds 'In Bloom' show
Hundreds of flower fans, green gardeners and nature nurturers convened over the weekend in The Society of the Four Arts' Esther B. O’Keeffe building to celebrate all growing things at The Garden Club of Palm Beach “In Bloom” Flower Show.
The event featured dozens of entries in various categories, including Horticulture Propagation, Photography, Floral Design and Botanical Arts, vying from club awards as well as awards from the Garden Club of America. A lecture by event planner and designer Bill Beers also was part of the activities.
A record 3,500 visitors visited the show on Saturday and Sunday, the club said. Guests received a small schedule of the various classes and a commemorative bookmark with the show’s custom graphics.
Beers spoke to an audience of about 550, The Four Arts said. During his presentation, he arranged flowers live on stage and showed how to accessorize a table and bring it to life.
