Floyd Furniture at West Elm, Plus 4 More Clever Finds

A roundup of what we’ve been reading and needing this week

Here at Clever, we’re all about finding the good stuff—unexpected decorating ideas, day-brightening accents and furnishings, news you need to know—and then delivering that info directly to you. Here’s a roundup of five things that stopped us in our tracks this week that we wanted to be sure you don’t miss.

Floyd Brings Entire Product Assortment to West Elm The Detroit furniture company known for its modern and minimalist designs just announced a big partnership with West Elm—though the two brands have been working together for years (West Elm began retailing the Floyd Legs back in 2016). The streamlined bed, the "take-apart-able" seating, and various tables are available online and in select cities. We're excited to see how the start-up keeps evolving! westelm.com

Latin American Design in Brussels Fracas, the Belgian gallery, is collaborating with Swiss label Republica Austral for a group exhibition showcasing the work of eight Latin American designers from five countries—from Mexico to Chile. The name of the show, “AMERICA_23°N_55°S,” comes from the range in latitude of the designers and aims to "give visibility to this emerging scene, in the shadow of countries more culturally settled like Brazil." Trust us, we've gone through the list of exhibitors, from Mestiz to Rodrigo Bravo to Estudio Diario, and you'll definitely want to keep these talents on your radar. The exhibition will run through July 20. fracas-online.com

Classic Danish Lighting Made of Paper Plates Get this: The photographer at The House That Lars Built was flipping through an issue of AD (swoon) and became inspired by a classic Louis Poulsen pendant lamp. She then decided to make her own versions from paper tableware, and wow, they look so cool. Now we're inspired back. thehousethatlarsbuilt.com

Fran Lebowitz Doesn't Want to Be Amused by Decor In this tour of Marc Balet's three-story loft in Manhattan, Fran—the creative director's dear friend—goes on and on about how terrible she finds pretty much everything he has done to the place. "I knew he would take this lovely, raw space and turn it into this," she says, looking around in disgust. Still, the two crack each other up and seem to get past their different opinions on decorating. thecut.com

We're Ready to Perk Up Our Walls With Pattern Chasing Paper, the genius peel-and-stick fabric wallpaper company, launched a new collection of prints called Elevated Essentials. The founder, Elizabeth Rees, says she wanted to take the classic prints and turn them up a notch. With a rich blue batik and busy floral blooms, the panels have us envisioning an easy but bold reno project. chasingpaper.com
