Get flu shots, health checks through Cincinnati Children's, First Ladies for Health

Cincinnati Children's will give free flu shots at two Family Health Day sites this Sunday, and other locations for the event will offer free health screenings.

Cincinnati-area families can fight flu, get health screenings and have fun during health events set up specifically for them on Sunday at area churches and other neighborhood sites.

Family Health Day will include free influenza shots for anyone 6 months or older and health screenings for kids and adults at all locations. Families will be able to get hearing, vision, speech and pathology screenings, asthma screening, and heart health, breastfeeding, dental and sickle cell information from experts.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and First Ladies for Health are teaming up to provide Cincinnati families with the health day, with the medical center collaborating with other organizations and its own experts to offer the screenings. The event is free, and kids and adults will find activities, games and food at every location.

Health screenings will be offered at the following locations and times:

  • Bethel Baptist Church, 2712 Alms Place, Walnut Hills, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • Corinthian Baptist Church, 1920 Tennessee Ave., Paddock Hills, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

  • New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 26 W. North Bend Road, Carthage, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • New Prospect Baptist Church, 1580 Summit Road, Roselawn, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Mother of Christ Catholic Church, 5301 Winneste Ave., Winton Hills, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Rockdale Academy, 335 Rockdale Ave., Avondale, noon to 3 p.m.

  • Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses, 901 Findlay St., West End, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Word of Deliverance Ministries, 693 Fresno Road, Forest Park, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
