Flyers re-sign G Elliott to one-year, $2M deal
The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed veteran goaltender Brian Elliott to a one-year contract for $2 million on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old is expected to serve as the top backup to Carter Hart in 2019-20.
"Brian has played well for us the last two seasons," said Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher in a statement released by the team. "He is a proven, quality goaltender who competes and battles hard every time he has the net. We are excited to have him rejoin our team."
Elliott posted a 2.96 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 26 games (23 starts) in 2018-19.
He has appeared in 441 games over 12 seasons with the Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames and Flyers.
