‘Fo Shiz, Fo Shiz’: Why Britney Spears’ Memoir Has This Justin Timberlake and Ginuwine Moment Trending

Britney Spears has released her highly anticipated memoir, The Woman in Me, and she serves all the tea about some celebrities and holds nothing back. In particular, she has chosen to highlight a revealing anecdote about her ex-boyfriend, fellow pop star Justin Timberlake.

In the book, the “Circus” singer claims the *NSYNC member had a strong affinity for Black artists and would alter his behavior around them to fit in.

“His band, *NSYNC, was what people back then called ‘so pimp,” Spears wrote on Page 57, according to the New York Post. 

“They were white boys, but they loved hip-hop. To me, that’s what separated them from the Backstreet Boys, who seemed to position themselves as a white group,” Spears confessed in her memoir. “*NSYNC hung out with black artists. Sometimes I thought they tried too hard to fit in.”

While dating Timberlake between 1999-2002, she was exposed to many instances of this activity. In the book, she recollects one situation involving R&B singer Ginuwine.

“One day J and I were in New York, going to parts of town I’d never been to before. Walking our way was a guy with a huge, blinged-out medallion,” the 41-year-old wrote. “He was flanked by two giant security guards.”

Per the Post, she continued, “J got all excited and said so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo shiz, fo shiz! Ginuwiiiiine! What’s up, homie?” The “Sexy Back” singer reacted to seeing Ginuwine.

In addition to all the hysteria around Timberlake, his fondness for Black culture and this humorous moment with Ginuwine, the book’s audio version has gone viral partly due to actor Michelle Williams’ hilarious impression of J.T. in her narration of The Woman in Me. 

Could another possible reason be the confusion that the book’s narrator isn’t the singer Michelle Williams? @MartelStar tweeted they expected a “Child of Destiny.”
