Union Berlin are set to lose another player in David Fofana who is about to return to parent club Chelsea, coach Nenad Bjelica said on Thursday.

"It appears that he won't be with us any more by Saturday," Bjelica said.

Fofana, 21, arrived on loan in summer but Chelsea have made use of their right to get him back in January.

Union are losing another summer signing in veteran Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci who is set to join Istanbul club Fenerbahce, but have already found a replacement in Kevin Vogt from Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim.

According to dpa information, the transfer is to be made official later on Thursday.

Bjelica said regretted the loss of the duo but added: "It is the way it is, we are focussing on the available players."

Robin Gosens, Danilho Doekhi and Sheraldo Becker are returning from injury for the Bundesliga restart on Saturday at Freiburg, and Bjelica said they were also looking to sign new players in the current transfer window.

After finishing fourth last term, the Berlin club played a poor first part of the new season and are just above the danger zone in 15th.
